Happy Easter!

Saturday morning we went to the Bothell Community Egg Hunt. They had this huge field marked off in sections so they could separate kids by age groups. The gross part about it was that there were pieces of foil wrapped chocolates tossed on the ground amongst the plastic eggs. The funny part was that the kids had the entire field cleared in exactly three minutes!

This morning Noelle managed to stay in bed until almost 7am. It had started pouring so the Easter Bunny didn't get to hide his eggs outside. Noelle was pretty excited about her loot. Because of the rain, the Easter Bunny was feeling pretty lazy... and had to wait until Noelle took a nap to hide the eggs inside. We can't wait for a yummy Easter dinner.

Happy Easter, everyone!
Noelle gave the Easter Bunny hugs at the egg hunt.
Someone got a little cranky that she had to wait behind the pink line until the whistle sounded. Then she went straight for all the icky chocolates on the bare ground. She didn't even try to get the plastic eggs. The other kids raced. Noelle was very methodical.
Noelle was quite impressed with the fact that the Easter Bunny seemed to know exactly the things she enjoyed most. What a smart rabbit!
With Mommy and Daddy's help she found all of the eggs. She had to stop and eat something out of each one before she put it in her basket and moved on. And, yes, she picked out her own outfit today. ;)

Latest Noelleisms

All too soon will come the day when our little smarty pants starts correcting our grammar usage and word choices. I need to preserve her first attempts at being a big girl (before my Mommy Brain shorts out and it's gone forever!). So here are the latest... as many as I can remember.

Eyelights: Most of us know these as "headlights"

Skabetty: Noelle's version of "spaghetti"

Crispy: You know, that thing we take to the park (was her answer when we asked what she was talking about). Turns out she meant "frisbee"

Happily After After ends every good story

"Don't I have style?" Is accompanied by a twirl to show that she is, once again, wearing her clothes backwards. Never let it be said that we cramp our daughter's style. ;)

And her most famous Noelleism? Now wouldn't that be the backwards- two-finger suck? Come on, how many other kids have you seen do that? So it's not something she says... but it is uniquely Noelle.

Recent Photo Dump

This isn't really an update... but I promised some recent photos to Pops and Grammie so I thought I'd just dump them here. Besides, I need the practice working on my blog layout. ;)

Here is Noelle catching the latest flick "The Spin Cycle". Two thumbs up?

It's kind of creepy when Noelle drags this life-sized doll around. She has her own seat at the table, uses Noelle's princess sleeping bag at night... if she starts talking to me I'm gonna freak!
This is the very first time her hair has been long enough to put into braids. And she actually ASKED me to do it. Amazing! Now if only she hadn't insisted on making a funny face as well.
Last but not least... Gizmo had his best friend, Titus, sleep over last weekend. Titus brought his own bed but was gracious enough to let Gizmo HOG it. These two are SO cute together. Thank you for letting us watch him for you, Cathy. :)

Museum of Flight

Okay, I'll admit that I have avoided this museum until now. I figured it would be pretty boring. But they were featuring a space exhibit and Noelle is so into anything space that we had to check it out. I really liked the WWII exhibit. We spent the entire afternoon there. They even had a craft section where Noelle made her own boomerang.

As scary as it looks, this was her favorite plane in the whole museum. She cracked up every time she looked at it.

It's the world's youngest astronaut! NASA, if you're reading this, Noelle would gladly start training now. She plans to live on Mars, some day, so she can probably use all the practice she can get.

The original Air Force One. Pretty darned cool... but we couldn't help but wish we could see how it compared to the one being used now.

Long day! Nap where/when you can.

Virgin Blogger

I promised Joanna that this first post would be dedicated to her. She's been bugging me for ages to start my own blog and now she can get off my butt. :P Seriously, it has been a lot of fun setting it up and I hope it will be a great way to keep everyone updated on our exciting life in Bothell. Come on, everyone - you know you want to visit us!
